We used other gym software in our own gyms
We were not satisfied, so we built what an owner needs. It turned out to be less, not more.
The short version
We were the customer first
The software we paid for made easy things fiddly and important things invisible. Knowing if the month was good meant exporting and staring.
This is the list of things that annoyed us, fixed in that order.
What that means in practice
Three things we hold to
Built by people who stand at the desk
Designed for someone on their feet with a member waiting. A part payment is a few taps. Who owes money is a list already made.
Easy enough that the front desk actually uses it
Software the desk works around is worse than none. Everything done twenty times a day is on the screen already open.
Only the parts a gym runs on
Every feature costs something even unused: a menu to scroll past, a setting to wonder about, a thing to explain to a new hire.
And a lot of it, we took out
All built, all removed. The gyms running this did not use them, and every one made the software heavier for everyone else.
